Full course description
Course Overview
This boot camp is composed of eight modules. Each module includes a series of selected textbook readings, instructor-led lesson videos, self-check practice questions, and an assessment. The course design is structured to build your mastery of each concept before progressing to the next.
- You must successfully complete all self-check quizzes and each module’s assessment before the next module opens. You will have multiple attempts to achieve the passing score.
- All the readings and resources you will need to complete the course are included within the modules.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Treat systems of differential equations as fundamental objects of study.
- Construct and analyze mathematical models.
- Use the method of successive approximations to define and solve problems with high accuracy.
- Recognize when problems have exact solutions that can be obtained using the methods of calculus and obtain those solutions.
- Use computer graphing tools and geometric visualization to solve problems.
Course Duration
This course is self-paced, and the approximate time to complete the eight course modules is 70 hours. You should plan to complete the course within 8 weeks, completing one module each week. As a reminder, enrollment is limited to 180 days, beginning the date you first enroll.
Certificate of Completion
Upon satisfactory completion of Calculus for Data Scientists, you will receive a certificate of completion that will satisfy the calculus prerequisite for the M.S. in Data Science program. Satisfactory completion is based on a score of 80% or higher on all quizzes and the eight module assessments.
